Project: Website design for a law firm, Kenya

Review

At first glance on the homepage, any visitor can tell what the company does and what can be achieved in the site.

The picture on the site together with the tagline communicates to the audience the purpose of the company and how they are willing to work with the clients.

The simplicity of the site enables any visitor to maneuver through the site pages and get to understand the company’s services through their elaborate website.

The main site navigation is located at the left side which is easy to find and use, it is done through technique being used by contemporary websites and we brought this to the TTA lawyers website design.

The page design and the content is short and concise and has no elements of contents around the page which makes it simpler to read what is on the site and gets rid of the confusion other website have.

The use of imagery on the site is good because it is limited to the important areas of the site. The page design and the typography is clean and easy to read this goes well with the use of capital letters and color thus bringing emphasis on important areas for the audience to read.

Rookie Manager Website Design

Project: Overhaul Kenya’s favorite personal finance website design

Rookie Manager is the personal magazine website a Nairobi-based manager, currently the General Manager of Lattice Training. Lattice Training offers customized training solutions for businesses of all sizes, from startup entrepreneurs all the way to large corporations. The owner of the website is also a trainer for Lattice’s Business Acumen course, which imparts finance and business skills using a fun, educative simulation.

The brief for the website design overhaul was to generate a visually interesting magazine-like website that offered a new visitor to the website a large variety of content to choose from without overwhelming them.

We met the brief by presenting over 15 stories on the home page in three distinct formats so as to create variety for the visitor, yet not overwhelm them with content.

Further features include:

Dynamic content slider
Using this, we are able to put new content up front and centre in a way that returning visitors will not miss. The slider can take up to three stories and one can navigate through these without the need to scroll through content.

Advertising
The Rookie Manager wanted to further monetise the website so we added strategic advertising locations throughout the website. The advertising locations are backed by a system that is able to offer the Rookie’s clients details analytics on how the advertisements were viewed and by whom.

Responsive design
The new website works on all devices, desktops, laptops, tablets and mobile phones. This is to ensure that the looks and feel of the new Rookie Manager’s website is maintained regardless of the device you are one.

Project: Website design for a HR Conference in Nairobi, Kenya

Lattice Training is a Kenyan training company, with its offices in Nairobi. Lattice has been providing training services in the East African region for the last 7 years. As part of this work, Lattice Training is hosting Africa’s first HR conference on 30th September, 2016. The purpose of this conference is to change the way HR professionals think about learning and talent development in their organisations and discuss modern trends in learning, how to design impact-driven learning programs for their organizations and how to win at hiring and training.

Lattice Training contacted us about developing a website that would communicate the importance of this conference to HR professionals throughout Africa. They wanted a website that:

  • Had all the crucial data on one page
  • Had online booking and payment
  • was mobile responsive; and
  • could easily be edited in house

We developed the website using WordPress and trained the team at Lattice’s office to update and change information on the website whenever they needed to without contacting Wit Design Kenya for any further work on the site.

We used JavaScript extensively to allow us to pack a large amount of data on the home page without making it feel squeezed and also let us have unique effects and transitions that liven up the website.

We integrated PesaPal into the website to allow HR professionals to visit the website, get information on the event and book their seat right on there all in under two clicks of landing on the homepage of the Learning and Development Africa home page.

A new website for Kenya’s Amboseli Women’s Company

AMBOSELI-OLTOME-women

An informative website design that encourages the sale of goods and tells the organisation’s story in a highly visual, concise and colorful way.

What, why and when...

Website Project Background

The Amboseli Women’s approached Wit Design Kenya with a need for a website design that would allow them to sell their hand-made products to the international market and accept payments online. The website, wasn’t only to be an online shop, however, as the goods all have individual stories and those cannot be told without telling the story of the organisation itself. That means the website was to be a fine hybrid between a standard corporate website and an online shop.

The deadline was two weeks. We accepted the challenge!
